POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Coordinator will be responsible for performing quality audit responsibilities on specific Alltrade Industrial Contractors projects. The Quality Assurance Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring the quality management system (QMS is constructed in accordance with the established required standards. The Quality Assurance Coordinator role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the workflow process and working with other in-house Quality Control personnel and external personnel to review and document the quality aspect of the project. This individual will continually foster and implement changes if and when needed.

Alltrade’s head office is located in Cambridge, Ontario, however, this position would be required to work on our project site in Napanee, Ontario.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for promoting and adhering to Alltrade Industrial’s high standards of quality to customers.
  • Create and maintain a culture of quality through coaching and mentoring of employees at all levels.
  • Control and distribute company’s quality documentation.
  • Monitor and work collaboratively with site staff on all quality related activities on projects
  • Perform internal and external audits when needed.
  • Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
  • Coordinate quality audits with all the site subcontractors and vendors.
  • Monitor all inspection test plans (ITP’s).
  • When required, attend client quality management meetings.
  • Prepare and control project quality system documentation prior to project commencement.
  • Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements.
  • Monitor and track the disposition of all issues non-conformance reports.
  • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project QMS on site and in the office. Recommend and continuously implement improvements when required.
  • Control all archive documentation upon the completion of the project.
  • Control of on site and off-site 3rdparty inspectors.
  • Work with project staff on resolution of any nonconforming product(s).
  • Reviewing contractors QA/QC systems in accordance with contractual requirements with Project Supervision.
  • Coordination of contractor quality approvals when required with Project Supervision.
  • Ensure the verification of documentation and certificates for materials purchased by vendors.
  • Communicate with management for quality improvements.
  • Coordinate all inspection receipts.
  • Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site contractors.
  • Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field considered an asset.
  • Quality Management certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a quality management role.
  • Working Knowledge of the requirements of the ISO 9000 quality standards and their implementation is required
  • Working knowledge of CWB W47.1, W59, Welding procedures, Weld Testing requirements
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
  • Able to create alternative solutions to problems.

  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, Project, etc.).
